Q. WHY DO WE SELL BORON BASED PRODUCTS?

Because the percentage of active ingredient - the Boron based part - is tailored to the amount needed for a particular treatment, plus the form of the product - be it dissolved in water, as a gel in glycol or as an injectable gel it is designed to react to the percentages of moisture inside the affected wood at particular levels.
Q. WHY IS BORON FREQUENTLY MENTIONED AS BEING A FIRE RETARDANT?
A. Because many compounds of Boron are naturally capable of preventing the spread of fire. If you take an ordinary piece of paper, soak it in a 10% Boric Acid solution, allow it to dry fully and then try to light it you will find it impossible to maintain a flame. It simply extinguishes itself. This natural feature is a great benefit when treating wood for woodworm or rot, particularly in roof spaces and thatched roofs. Borates are natural fire retardants.
